If you’ve been following him from the beginning, you’ll see that he has grown alongside other legends like the late Mamba Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, and Shaquille O’Neal.

Born as LeBron Raymone James Sr., LeBron James has profoundly improved as a player in his stint with the NBA. This is evident in his many accolades as a star player for various teams over the years. But admittedly, he has made plenty of court mistakes during his career and was caught in a public scandal or two. However, this doesn’t change the fact that he has won dozens and dozens of championships.

Starting young in Ohio, LeBron was a star in the court long before playing in the NBA. He played basketball when his football coach decided to intervene with the young kid’s rough living situation. When he started living a more stable life suited for a kid his age, his talents were unstoppable, and it wasn’t long before the pros noticed him.

In pro sports, the average human age can be multiplied up to thrice its value in physical health and ability to play. No matter how good an athlete is, their race against time is one they can’t keep winning forever. Most people consider peak athletes to be in their early to late twenties. After that, it is a guessing game when they’ll hang up the medals and retire.

King James, however, is trying to beat these odds. This NBA 2020-21 season, James is 36-years old and still playing strong. He is still playing All-Star games and helping his team make it to the Playoffs and, eventually and hopefully, the Finals. While LeBron James’s age of 36 years can hardly be considered senior, it is a pretty late age for a basketball player.

When asked if he is considering retirement soon, King James says he has honestly not considered it yet. For him, he still has a lot of years left for playing, and he’ll keep doing so. Gold medals aren’t won by sitting on a bench, after all. At this age, his legacy stands at four NBA title championships. During off and regular seasons, he is also an entrepreneur and has many various investments and advertisements.

Summary

Whether you’re a fan of LeBron James or not, you have to admit it is pretty impressive that his career spans years of awards, MVP titles, NBA championships and that he is still playing strong a decade and a half later. The Laker player is also known for many philanthropic and charitable endeavors outside of the court.

He has supported After-School All-Stars, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and Children’s Defense Fund for many years. He has also put up his foundation called the LeBron James Family Foundation based in Akron to put children from low to middle-class families through school. At almost 37 years old, James has made a name for himself that will undoubtedly be remembered in basketball and sports history.
