Instagram is bombarded now with “Nah he tweakin” all over the comment section for the last 24 hours. Regardless of what the post is about, this phrase keeps appearing. You probably saw it too.

What’s with all the fuss, and what is it really about? “Nah, he tweakin” means “he’s crazy.” It all started when Lil Nas X referred that phrase to the renowned skater Tony Hawk. This three-word phrase has been pretty visible all over Instagram since that Lil Was comment.

The captions on Instagram gave birth to this super trending phrase on Wednesday. When the Instagram account @rap posted Tony Hawk’s snapshot with the caption, “#TonyHawk’s blood being used in $500 limited-edition skateboards. Y’all rocking with it!?”

Rapper Lil Nas X posted a comment on the post: “Nah he tweakin.” He was kind of annoyed with the legendary skateboarder’s move of painting boards with his blood. Since then, this phrase has been raining on Instagram and being posted on every comment section.

Hawk announced that day that he partnered with Liquid Death, a beverage company, for a limited number of skateboard runs where Hawk’s blood was mixed with the paint.

Where it all started

A few months ago, Lil Nas X released Satan Shoes along with his new single Montero. That said shoe is a custom-made Nike Air Max 97’s with drops of human blood at the soles. Those shoes caused huge controversy and negative comments. Nike filed a lawsuit against Lil Nas X and the Brooklyn-based company he collaborated with. They ended up in a settlement.

And then now, Tony Hawk announced selling 500 limited edition skateboard decks covered in paint made of his blood. But the reaction to that was positive, which stirred up Lil Nas X to rant on Twitter.

Lil Nas X posted comments on some Instagram posts asking for opinions about skateboards. He then replied to the now popular three-word phrase; “Nah, he tweakin.” This comment earned more than 110,000 likes. Moreover, it stirred quite a several people using the same phrase in commenting on Instagram posts.

Influencers’ comment box was also flooded with those three words. Some said that bots aid in spreading the trend but later proven by the BBC that it’s just the people having some laugh. They have no choice but to accept it as more and more people join the fun.

For the last 12 hours, “Nah he tweakin” has had more than 11 million interactions on Instagram as per data from Crowdtangle.

Everyone’s waiting for Tony Hawk’s reply to Lil Nas X, as the latter hasn’t responded yet. Instagram’s communication team also posted about this.

Some say the rapper doesn’t have the reason to get triggered as there are clear differences between Tony Hawk’s skateboards and his Satan Shoes. There’s no satanic meaning attached to the skateboards.
