/ 08:56 AM November 10, 2021

While Paul Rudd is still trying to adjust to his new title as the Sexiest Man Alive in 2021, PEOPLE has already sealed the deal.

Nobody can deny it but the actor’s magazine cover is charming just as how he is in real life. On Tuesday night, PEOPLE revealed the cover on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” The revelation came out as a pre-recorded scene where Colbert acted out as a “sexiness adjudicator”. Before finally unveiling Paul Rudd’s new title – the Sexiest Man Alive.

While Rudd is on his way to the list of the hottest Hollywood actors, his kind and humble demeanor makes him worry about the title. The 52-year-old actor was known for his traits being affable, self-deprecating, and hardworking. So the title sexy got Rudd a bit off the track.

In Rudd’s cover story he told PEOPLE, “I do have an awareness, enough to know that when people hear that I’d be picked for this, they would say, ‘What?’. This isn’t false humility. There are so many people that should get this before me.”

This is exactly why audiences have grown to love Paul Rudd over the years. With his humility paired with those stunning green eyes and smooth green, many will agree with his new title.

Aside from the Sexiest Man Alive title, Rudd also has a couple of new projects lined up. This month, he’s working with Will Ferrell for an upcoming Apple TV+ series – The Shrink Next Door. He’s also appearing on one of Hollywood’s famous franchises, Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

Rudd who’s known as the “Ant-man” is one of Hollywood’s friendliest and funniest leading men. He’s also internet-famous as one of those who never age. Moreover, his Sexiest Man Alive title was also Michael B. Jordan’s title last year. His fellow Marvel star also received the honor.

His superstardom

Although his leading man stardom leveled up, Rudd claims he’s happiest when he’s at home. Which he happily shares with his wife of 18 years, Julie, 53, and their sons Jack, 17, and Darby, 12.

Rudd added, “When I think about myself, I think of myself as a husband and father like I’m that. I just hang out with my family when I’m not working. That’s what I kind of like the most.”

Julie, the actor’s wife, was the first person he told about his new title.

He says, “She was stupefied. But you know she was very sweet about it. After some giggling and shock, she said ‘Oh, they got it right.’ And that was very sweet. She was probably not telling the truth, but what’s she going to say?”

As Rudd also says, he’s also looking forward to his close friends giving him “so much grief.”

“As they should. I would,” Rudd added. “ I mean I’m going to lean into it hard. I’m going to own this. I’m not going to try to be like ‘Oh, I’m so modest.’ I’m getting business cards made. But all my friends will destroy me and I expect them to. And that’s why they’re my friends.”

Being officially sexy, Rudd expects his life to change a lot. He says, “I’m hoping now that I’ll finally be invited to some of those sexy dinners with Clooney and Pitt and B.Jordan. And I figure I’ll be on a lot more yachts. I’m excited to expand my yachting life. And I’ll probably try to get better at brooding in really soft light. I like to ponder. I think this is going to help me become more inward and mysterious. And I’m looking forward to that.”

In addition, his kind-hearted demeanor makes the actor all the more sexy. He also has a viral video handing out cookies to Brooklyn residents waiting in the rain to vote in the presidential election. At that, he’s proven he deserves the Sexiest Man Alive title.
