If you’ve been following crypto news, you may have heard of NFTs. Also known as non-fungible tokens, they allow people to own a unique digital piece of intellectual property.

It’s registered on the Ethereum blockchain, currently the #2 crypto next to bitcoin. That makes your copy one-of-a-kind. Others may copy it for free, but theirs isn’t part of the ETH network.

People are getting interested for several reasons. Specifically, artists see NFTs as a new way to earn from their craft. They could sell their work without a third party taking a cut.

What’s more, it’s changing other industries. For example, video games are getting into NFTs now. Axie Infinity is one of these NFT games that even helps Filipinos make ends meet.

After learning about GaryVee and NFTs, let’s talk about their latest project, VeeFriends. It involves 10,255 tokens created by Vaynerchuk himself.

They’re like electronic trading cards with simple drawings on them. These are 268 doodles for the set. If you check, it seems silly. You might even think a kid drew them!

Still, the drawings aren’t random. Vaynerchuk said they represent positive traits. What’s more, he took inspiration from his favorite childhood characters.

The cards have far more value in the real world, though. Each gives certain perks that are redeemable in real life. They’re divided into three types, Yet, they all provide access to VeeCon.

It’s an annual event for VeeFriends token holders that spans three years. No matter what type they have, they may attend. Some cards have other benefits, but all will expire on May 4, 2024.

Gift Goats

There are 555 gift tokens. Each has a Gift Goat drawn on them. Their owners will get gifts from the Veefriends team. Those holding these cards must verify their address on July 4, 2021.

On that date, they should proceed to VeeFriends.com to activate their gifting experience. Moreover, they should subscribe to the mailing list for further details.

Afterward, Gift Goat holders receive a minimum of 6 physical gifts. The Veefriends team sends them in a span of 3 years on May 6 of 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Admission tokens

What’s more, 9,400 Veefriends tokens allow you to attend VeeCon. They’re divided into different character types. Yet, they all have the same “Gary Bee” character on them!

They’re divided into 2 types: Core and Limited. Each has 20 tokens, but Limited has 4 other types. Here’s the breakdown of these VeeFriends admission tokens:

All the admission tokens have the Gary Bee character on them. Although, the Limited ones have different backgrounds and number of tokens per type.

Access Tokens

These let you hang out with Gary in various ways. For example, the card may give you the chance to play tennis or eat dinner with him. There are 165 of them divided into 3 categories.

There are 108 of them that give one-to-one access. These allow cardholders to have a one-on-one session with GaryVee. The activity’s written on the card name.

A handful of these cards gives scholarship access. The Sorcerer Scholarship grants a coaching and mentoring session from GaryVeetoo. People can’t buy them, though. Instead, they must apply for the cards.

The VeeFriends access tokens are divided into 4 types. These are group, one-to-one, competition, and scholarship. We’ll show each one, how many there are, and their benefits.

Competition Access

These 22 tokens let the holder compete with Vaynerchuk in a game. The card lets you know the game the holder may play with him. Here are the types and the number of cards available:

• Bowling Boa (9) – A 2-hour session with GaryVee.
• Basketball Butterfly (5) – Play a 2-hour pickup basketball game with Gary Vaynerchuk.
• Bubble Hockey Basset Hound (1) – Play bubble hockey with Gary Vaynerchuk. The game is similar to Foosball.
• Checkers Chicken (1) – An hour of Checkers with GaryVee.
• Uno Unicorn (3) – Play a 4-person Uno game with GaryVee for an hour.
• Ping Pong Kalong (1) – An hour of ping pong with Gary Vaynerchuk.
• Tennis Elbow (1) – Play a 90-minute tennis match with GaryVee
• Video Game Vulture (1) – Play a video game with Gary Vaynerchuk for an hour. The holder and GaryVee must both agree to the game that they will play.

Group Access

There are 165 group access tokens for VeeFriends. Those holding these tokens may attend a group event with Gary Vaynerchuk. They could either be physical or online.

• Breakfast Bat (10) – 90-minute breakfast
• Brunch Bear (10) – 90-minute brunch
• Lunch Lady Bug (10) – 90-minute lunch
• Dinner Deer (10) – 90-minute dinner
• Hangout Hawk (125) – 60 minute Q&A session via virtual hangout

One-to-one Access

These tokens let the holders have a one-on-one activity with GaryVee. There are 108 of them in total. Just like the group access VeeFriends, they’re either physical or online.

• The “Facetime” series (85) – There are 5 of these, namely Five, Flea, Fly, Fox, and Frog. They give a 5-minute video call with Vaynerchuk.
• Garage Sale Yale (1) – The holder can go garage-saling with GaryVee for 4 hours. What’s more, they get to co-star in an episode of Trash Talk, GaryVee’s YouTube channel.
• Keynote Koala (5) – Get a premium seat at any of Gary Vaynerchuk’s public keynote appearances. The holder would need to go through the verification process, though.
• Supper Sunfish (1) – Share a 1-on-1 dinner.
• Workout Wolf (1) – Exercise for an hour with Vaynerchuk and his trainer.
• Part of The Team Dream (1) – Spend 40 hours in 5 business days with Team GaryVee in New York City.
• Podcast Panther (1) – Get Gary Vaynerchuk to appear as a guest on the holder’s podcast for 40 minutes.
• Courtside Cat (1) – Watch a New York Knicks game in courtside with GaryVee.
• Mentor Meeting Mongoose (3) – Have a 2-hour mentor meeting with GaryVee.
• Jam Session Snail (1) – Have a 3-hour NYC jam session with 3 of your friends and GaryVee.
• “Wine Shopping Spree” Woodchuck (1) – Join Gary Vaynerchuk for a 45-minute wine shopping spree with a $10,000.00 store credit.
• Shadow Me Scorpion (1) – Shadow GaryVee for a day within 10 hours.
• “Gone Fishing” Fish (1) – Join a 3-hour fishing session with GaryVee.

VeeFriends Auction

The project started on May 11, 2021, at 5:55 PM (ET). It was a dutch auction that lasted for five days. Each day from May 11-15 allowed people to bid on certain cards.

Each token had a start price of 2.5 Ethers or Ethereum coins. The prices lowered as time passed until someone bought them. After it hits the floor price of 0.5 ETH, it will stop dropping.

The bidders should have an ETH wallet like MetaMask. However, they had to pay gas fees. These are the costs of transactions on the Ethereum blockchain.

Though the auction is over, you may still buy some of the VeeFriends tokens. You may purchase them using a Portis, Formatic, or WalletConnect account.

Potential issues with VeeFriends

The world of NFTs is mostly uncharted territory. As a result, some problems may arise from its initial projects. Take Gary Vaynerchuk’s latest project, for example.

It hinges heavily on the public’s trust for GaryVee. This means the VeeFriends NFTs depend on his word and his physical health. After all, some tokens give them a chance to play games with him.

As much as we don’t want to admit, there’s no definite end to the pandemic yet. If the crisis doesn’t end soon, cardholders can’t attend VeeCon.

Finally, all the perks from the VeeFriends tokens will expire on May 6, 2024. After that date, the value of these NFTs will depend entirely on their collectibility.

Anything new is always met with skepticism. Yet, Gary Vaynerchuk’s project dared to explore the possibilities anyway. VeeFriends have shown the potential of NFTs.
