Soon You Will Be Able to Legally Place Bets for the NBA Games

/ 02:20 AM October 04, 2019

NBA officials announced a new partnership deal with sports bookmaker William Hill on Wednesday, making the England-based firm an authorized sports betting operator of the league in the United States.

Under terms of the deal, William Hill can utilize official NBA betting data and league marks across mobile platforms and in its US sportsbooks.

William Hill will be promoted on the NBA’s digital assets including the league’s website, app and social media platforms.

Ensuring the competitive integrity of NBA games will be a component of the deal.

The NBA and William Hill “will collaborate on best-in-class practices to protect the integrity of NBA games,” according to a joint statement.

“William Hill is a globally respected brand that has set an early standard for sports betting in the US market,” said Scott Kaufman-Ross, NBA senior vice president and head of fantasy and gaming.

After a US Supreme Court decision last year opened the way for sports betting across the United States, William Hill expanded US sports betting operations to 10 states, with the company accepting one of every four bets placed in the United States.

William Hill struck a similar deal last March with the National Hockey League for an official sports betting partnership.

Last month, the NBA announced that teams must submit starting lineups 30 minutes before tipoffs instead of merely 10, a move that will allow bettors and bookmakers more time to analyze the information.
