Filipino pop group BGYO continues to blaze trails beyond local airwaves, now catching the attention of another major global platform, Forbes.
Already lauded by prestigious names like Billboard and The Recording Academy (Grammys), the five-member P-pop sensation affectionately dubbed the “Aces of Pop,” is making waves once again.
This time, they’ve been recognized in a curated Forbes list celebrating songs that capture the colorful, effervescent charm of “Soda Pop” by the fictional K-pop group SAJA Boys from the animated Netflix hit “KPop Demon Hunters.”

The list, titled “16 Songs If You Love ‘Soda Pop’ By Saja Boys From ‘KPop Demon Hunters,’” was compiled by veteran K-pop columnist Jeff Benjamin, who included BGYO’s 2022 hit “Tumitigil Ang Mundo” at No. 10.
The track, which served as the lead single for their sophomore album “Be Us,” was praised for its infectious energy and joyful soundscape.
“As the Philippines is growing its music influence globally, its artists are showcasing a range of styles and colors,” wrote Benjamin. “Five-member boy band BGYO embraced an energetic, feel-good vibe on ‘Tumitigil Ang Mundo’ (which translates to ‘The World Stops’) as the first single from their sophomore album.
He also pointed out that the music video, featuring the group dancing in a sunny neighborhood street, bears a visual similarity to SAJA Boys’ own performance scene in “KPop Demon Hunters.”
The animated film, released on Netflix on June 20, quickly climbed the platform’s charts with over 33 million views in its first two weeks. Its soundtrack, led by “Soda Pop,” has since sparked real-world buzz, inspiring comparisons and playlist inclusions across various genres.
Joining BGYO in the Forbes feature are K-pop heavyweights such as NCT Dream (Chewing Gum), ZEROBASEONE (Feel the POP), AB6IX (Cherry), SHINee (Dream Girl), and Kim Woo Seok (Sugar).
This marks another major moment in BGYO’s international journey. In 2023, they were named by Grammys as one of the “Asian Pop Artists to Check Out,” while back in 2021, they debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Next Big Sound chart.
