Another Filipino basketball dreamer is getting closer to the NBA spotlight.
Kevin Quiambao, the former UAAP MVP and current Korean Basketball League (KBL) player, is in the United States and ready to chase his NBA aspirations.
The 24-year-old has been tapped to join the Sacramento Kings in the NBA Summer League, which runs from July 10 to 20.

The post instantly sparked excitement among Filipino fans and basketball communities online, who have been following his career trajectory since his dominant run with DLSU during his UAAP days.
Now suiting up for the Goyang Sono Skygunners in South Korea, Quiambao is making a significant pivot by entering the Summer League, which is said to be a proving ground for young talents and undrafted prospects hoping to break into the NBA.
His upcoming stint with the Kings not only places him on an international platform but also reunites him with a familiar face in Filipino basketball, Jimmy Alapag.
A Gilas Pilipinas legend and former PBA star, Alapag is currently serving as an assistant coach for the Sacramento Kings. He is expected to help mentor Quiambao throughout the Summer League training camp, possibly giving him a crucial edge in adjusting to the NBA system.
With Dylan Harper, a Filipino American, recently selected No. 2 overall in the 2025 NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs, Quiambao’s entry into the Summer League adds another chapter to the growing narrative of Filipinos making waves in the world’s premier basketball stage.
While nothing is guaranteed, Quiambao is taking his shot, just like many before him, and all eyes will be on him come July 10.
