‘Cause they could never, ever be Jennie. Have you ever met Jennie?
Blackpink Jennie has once again proven her star power, making history as the first K-pop soloist to be honored at the Billboard Women in Music 2025 Awards.
The multi-talented artist and K-pop superstar received the Global Force Award, a fitting recognition of her far-reaching influence and trailblazing impact on the global music landscape.
She got the award hot off the heels of releasing her latest solo album “Ruby” with chart-topping hits and international collaborations with Childish Gambino, Dua Lipa, Doechii, Dominic Fike, FKJ and Kali Uchis.
Held at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, the event saw Jennie delivering a speech, celebrating the strength and creativity of women in the industry right in time for women’s month.

“This award is a tribute to every woman who dares to dream, and create, and shape the world with her vision,” she shared.
“Women are a powerful force, and when we come together, we can uplift each other with every step.”
Though composed on stage, Jennie later admitted to feeling overwhelmed with emotion. Taking to Instagram, she revealed she couldn’t fully express herself during her speech.
“Thank you @billboard for honoring me with the Global Force Award. I got too nervous on stage and couldn’t finish everything I wanted to say,” she wrote. She extended her gratitude to the women she works with, calling them her true inspiration, and to her devoted fans, adding, “Wouldn’t be here without you!”
Jennie also paid tribute to her Blackpink sisters, giving a heartfelt shoutout to her groupmates.

In an interview with Billboard, she revealed that her songwriting for her upcoming record is deeply rooted in her personal journey and life experiences.
