Miss Philippines USA 2024 ushers in Fil-Am pageant season

The longest-running Fil-Am pageant in the US will present its 2024 candidates on June 30

LOS ANGELES – The Miss Philippines USA, the longest-running Filipino American beauty pageant in the United States, is all set to present its 2024 candidates on June 30 at the Legacy Venue in Glendale, California.

The candidates are accomplished young women who have the potential to become ambassadors of goodwill for the Fil-Am community, said fashion designer Lou Razon, the pageant’s founder and executive producer.

“They are poised and confident, emanating both beauty and intelligence, and who are driven towards compassionate and purposeful advocacies,” Razon said.

Now in its 13th year, the Miss Philippines USA beauty pageant is the longest-running Fil-Am beauty contest held in the US.

Many of the Miss Philippines USA titleholders have joined international pageants.

Bianca Tapia, a top 20 finalist and Hawai’i’s representative in Miss Universe Philippines 2024, was Miss Philippines USA Tourism and Ambassador in 2021. She also won the People’s Choice award. Tapia is now vying for Miss World Philippines.

The Miss Philippines USA coronation night will be held on July 28 at Alex Theater in Glendale.

The grand event will be hosted by Emmy-winning KTLA5 anchor Cher Calvin and ABC7 news reporter Tony Cabrera.

The organization aims to instill among the candidates “an awareness and appreciation of Philippine culture and heritage, while they establish an authentic connection to the Fil-Am community,” Razon said.

The pageant offers an amazing experience that the contestants will surely cherish,” she added. “It will open many new doors leading to exciting opportunities.”
