It’s definitely pageant season! Following the excitement of Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH), crowning Bulacan’s Chelsea Manalo as the big winner, the fever of anticipation for Miss World Philippines 2024 is on, with familiar faces and pageant crossovers gracing the screening process on May 27.

After a well-deserved break from the four-month Miss Universe Philippines competition, top 20 finalist and Hawai’i’s representative, Bianca Tapia, returned to the stage. This time, she’s vying for a different crown, proudly representing Batangas.

In a collaborative Instagram post, The Camp officially announced Tapia’s participation, stating, “The CAMP is proud to announce our bet for this year’s Miss World Philippines 2024! Fresh from her recently concluded pageant assignment where she placed as a Top 20 Finalist, let’s all wish [Bianca Tapia] all the luck in the WORLD, as she competes for [Miss World Philippines] 2024!!!”

Tapia’s presence sent shockwaves through the pageant community, with fans and pages describing her as “unstoppable,” “walang pahinga” and “dedicated,” making her one of the early favorites for the crown.

In an interview with Tiaraholics on Facebook, Tapia shared her excitement about representing her Filipino heritage after representing Hawai’i last May 22.

“What made me decide is that I really felt I learned so much from Miss Universe Philippines,” the Fil-Am beauty queen said. “I was able to see the impact I had (on) those with disabilities. I wanted to keep expanding that to a larger platform.”

During MUPH, Tapia won the “Swimsuit Challenge,” a pre-pageant activity, and was a finalist in the “Up Close and Personal Interview Challenge.”

Other familiar faces among the 18 official candidates presented include Miss Universe Philippines 2024 – Cavite, Dia Mate, who is also OPM singer Juan Karlos Labajo’s girlfriend, and Binibining Pilipinas’ Jasmine Omay and Jeanne Isabelle Bilasano. They will be joined by 26 other candidates from local and international franchise holders.

The grand coronation night will be held on July 19.
