Fil-Am beauty queens in California can now vie for Miss World Philippines
Aspiring Filipino American beauty queens in California now have an exciting opportunity to join the prestigious Miss World Philippines pageant and vie for the crown in the national beauty tilt, as the organization extends its reach to the United States.
Following the unexpected outcome of the recent Miss World 2024 pageant, where the Philippines’ representative Gwendolyne Fourniol unfortunately did not secure a placement, the local franchise holder of Miss World in the Philippines has announced its decision to welcome new applicants.
In a significant stride, the organization has partnered with Jojo Verdaflor, a franchise partner since 2017, to establish an official franchise in California.
“His unwavering loyalty and exceptional talent have consistently sent representatives from the Filipino community in Los Angeles, California, to the prestigious Miss World Philippines competition,” the caption read.

Announcing the partnership on Instagram, the organization expressed its enthusiasm for expanding its reach to the United States. The post detailed how interested applicants from California can inquire about representing their state in the pageant.
“For any inquiries, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Kubo Restaurant at 2330 W Temple St, Los Angeles, CA 90026. They’ll be more than happy to assist you!” the announcement concluded.
This strategic expansion is part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to broaden its scope and foster inclusivity within the pageant. Over the past few months, the organization has granted franchises to various regions in the Philippines, including the provinces of Bukidnon, Olongapo City, Zambales and Bataan.
With the addition of California to its roster of franchise holders, Miss World Philippines is opening its doors to attract a diverse array of talented contestants and further solidify its position as one of the leading platforms for aspiring beauty queens.
The Philippines currently holds only one Miss World crown, which was won by Megan Young back in 2013.
