Filipino American basketball standout Jalen Green is on the move, not with the Rockets but on a different team this time.
The Houston Rockets sent Green to the Phoenix Suns as part of a deal that brings NBA superstar Kevin Durant to Houston.
The trade package was massive. Green, together with veteran forward Dillon Brooks, the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, and five second-round selections, now heads to Phoenix. In return, the Rockets acquire the services of one of the game’s all-time greats in Durant.
Shortly after the trade was announced, Green turned to social media to share a glimpse into his thoughts. On Instagram Stories, he posted a screenshot of the song playing on his phone — “Blessings” by the late Nipsey Hussle.
The post, though subtle, suggested a spirit of gratitude and quiet optimism as he turned the page to a new chapter in Phoenix.
Green, who was the second overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, spent four seasons with the Rockets. In that time, he became one of the young faces of the franchise, known for his high-flying dunks and dynamic offensive play.
He averaged 20.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game across 307 appearances. His shooting splits — 42.2 percent from the field, 34.2 percent from deep and nearly 80 percent from the free-throw line — showcased his development as a scorer and perimeter threat.
In Phoenix, Green joins a squad packed with star talent, including Devin Booker and Bradley Beal. His athleticism and energy are expected to give the Suns an extra boost, especially as they make another push for playoff success.
As the basketball world watches, the question now is: How will Jalen Green shine under the Arizona sun?
