During the inaugural edition of The Voice Kids Philippines in 2014, a 12-year-old Filipino kid from Canada stood on stage, clad in an orange and gray jacket. He was aiming to impress the three renowned Filipino coaches Lea Salonga, Bamboo and Sarah Geronimo—who eventually became his coach.

As the music began, he performed Jessie J’s “Domino,” and you sensed that he’s destined for greatness, transcending the boundaries of reality TV competition.

A decade later, you witnessed him mature, engaged in international projects, and established as a household name in the Philippines—Darren Espanto.

Portraying Stephen Tanhueco in the hit Netflix and ABS-CBN series “Can’t Buy Me Love,” the Asia’s Pop Heartthrob prepares to commemorate his 10-year journey in the industry with an anniversary concert.

Titled “D10,” the musical spectacle is slated for the Araneta Coliseum on June 1. Tickets to the concert are now available in Ticketnet outlets and ticketnet.com.ph priced at P8,004 (Platinum), P6,404 (VIP), P4,269 (Patron A), P2,668 (Patron B), P2,135 (Lower box), P1,068 (Upper box) and P427 (General admission).

Celebrated as the total performer, the “Bibitaw Na” artist announced his anniversary concert in ABS-CBN’s Sunday variety show “ASAP Natin ‘To” accompanied by a social media update.

In February, following Episode 84 of the Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano series where he serenaded Caroline, played by Mariano, he unveiled the Tagalog rendition of his latest single, “Iyo.”

For the record, he already has two platinum albums under his belt, “Darren” and “Be With Me,” and has captivated listeners with a slew of hits such as “Dying Inside To Hold You,” “In Love Ako Sa’yo,” and “7 Minutes.”

But, he’s only moving forward now as the 22-year-old artist disclosed plans for an album release in 2024, alongside his anniversary concert.

Will the Filipino Canadian singer bring the show to Canada and the US? We’ll keep you posted. Stay tuned!
