LeBron James open to returning to the Cavaliers and playing in NBA with son
A possible reconciliation with the Cleveland Cavaliers? LeBron James is not closing his doors for a potential return. However, he is firm when he says that his last season in the NBA league will be played with Bronny James.
Standing at 6-foot-3, Bronny James is a point guard playing high school basketball at Sierra Canyon School in California. In 2024, he would be eligible to be drafted. His father, Lebron, will be 39 years old by then.
James answered an interview with The Athletic when asked about a potential comeback with the Cavaliers.“The door’s not closed on that. I don’t know what my future holds.”

He added, “I’m not saying I’m coming back and playing, I don’t know. I don’t even know when I’m free.”
LeBron James is back in Cleveland for the All-Star Game on his 18th appearance. While he is under an $85 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, he is just in his first year of the two-year contract. This won’t allow the King to be a free agent until the 2023-24 season, which would be his 21st season in his NBA career.

James was completely vocal when asked about the Lakers stand this season. In his All-Star Game media presence, James labeled the Lakers campaign “a hell-storm of a season.”Positioning ninth in the Western Conference, the Lakers have a 27-31 record.
Originating from Akron, Ohio, James played his first seven seasons with the Cavaliers. Before he left for the Miami Heat and eventually returned to Cleveland for another four years.
Lebron James’ Future Plans
Currently, James is just on his 19th season. He played two separate stints with the Cavaliers, from 2003-2010 and 2014-2018. James, 37, achieved his third NBA championship with the Cavaliers in 2016. A win over the Golden State Warriors took them seven games.

Moreover, LeBron James also told The Athletic that he’s not interested in taking a discount after finishing his current contract. However, he’s open to possible exceptions.
James said, “My last year will be played with my son. Wherever Bronny is at, that’s where I’ll be. I would do whatever it took to play with my son for one year. It’s not about the money at that point.”
