According to Netflix Party, it’s now the largest social TV app in the world! That’s why they’re truly grateful for the folks enjoying their services. That’s why version 2.0.0 of Netflix Party is coming!
Disney+, HBO, and Hulu will join the Party as well. If that’s the case, then the name Netflix Party doesn’t fit anymore. That’s why NP changed its name to Teleparty.
If you’re subscribed to those other live stream platforms, you may host watch parties as well. Just open a video from those sites. Then, click the Teleparty icon on your web browser.
Steps on how to use Netflix Party/Teleparty
Now that everyone’s caught up, we can discuss how to use Netflix Party or Teleparty. Without further ado, here are the steps:
- Open Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. You can’t use NP/TP on other browsers.
- Install the Teleparty/Netflix Party extension for Chrome or Edge.
- Once the installation is finished, you’ll see a red “TP” extension icon near the top right of your Edge or Chrome browser. (Back then, it was an “NP” button.)
- Open your account on Netflix, Hulu, HBO, or Disney+. Use your main account profile.
- Select a show. Make sure it’s playing.
- Click the TP button near the address bar. The Teleparty extension icon should now be red instead of grey.
- This will open another window that contains a link.
- Click the chain icon to copy and share the Party URL. It should be on the top right of your chat interface.
- Your friends should start appearing in the chat window. Now you’re ready to watch movies together!
You may allow up to 50 people in your Teleparty. However, all of them must have an account for the live stream service you’re using. Also, everyone must have the Edge or Chrome extension.
Moreover, it only functions on desktop computers or laptops. You can’t use Teleparty on tablets, smartphones, and other devices.
Sometimes, online tools may not work as intended for a variety of reasons. Fortunately, the typical solution is simply uninstalling then reinstalling the software.
The same is true for Teleparty. Now that you know how to use Netflix Party/Teleparty, you should also know how to fix it. Read the following steps:
- Type “chrome://extensions” on the address bar.
- Search for the Teleparty browser extension.
- Click its Remove button.
- Once it’s gone, open the Chrome or Edge link again.
- Download and install Teleparty from there.
The usual problem is that the TP button won’t appear. If you can’t host a Teleparty, you may have to renew your subscription. If your friends can’t join, they may have to renew theirs.
