The Muramid Museum’s owner and founder, Joanne Tawfilis, will be a featured artist; she received the first honorary doctorate degree from CSUSM College of Humanities, Arts, Behavioral and Social Sciences this May.

Returning FilAm Art Alive exhibitors include fine arts photographer Evgeny Yorobe, a social media sensation with beautiful photos of local landscapes and scenery, along with Aldryn Estacio with Flyt Path, a known drone aerial photographer. Tawfilis, Yorobe and Estacio have all been honored with a Historical Heritage Excellence Award 2017.

Additional artists include Marenn Espiritu and Minh Le, ambassadors for the Muramid Museum and Art Miles Murals Project, creating peace and healing murals for various causes. Returning FilAm Art Alive include artists Al Quinn, Isauro ‘Iz’ Inocencio Jr., Jiro Douglas, and Kenji Douglas; with new talented artist additions Charisse Vergara, Cynthia Cordero, Gabe Dimagiba, Erykah Baker and Jizel de Leon.

The celebrations continue at the June 10th festival with more art exhibitors, a Children’s Activities Area, and a special live art featuring skilled Chalk Artist, Meg Canilang, who has been chalking since the age of nine and now a senior in high school. Canilang has participated in many chalk festivals including San Diego’s infamous Little Italy Festa.

Entertainment will include Rusty Dimagiba returning as the delightful FilAm Art Alive host and a very charming singer, along with DJCY, KickForce Martial Arts, D2 Dynamic Duo Zumba, singer Kenji, and more surprises.
