Over the years, there has been a level of concern regarding the use and consumption of marijuana and CBD so much so that it was banned in several countries all around the world.

The trend in recent years, however, has seen a relaxed view of the cannabis plant.

Countries are beginning to legalize the use of marijuana. This is due to the apparent health benefits cannabidiol possesses.

The legalization of marijuana in the United States has brought about a rise in the popularity of CBD oil, also known as cannabidiol.

More users are purchasing and consuming the best CBD oil. However, it’s good to be aware of the possible health benefits of CBD consumption.

What is Cannabidiol?

CBD is a non-intoxicating chemical derived from the marijuana plant.

It does not make its users feel high as that is the major characteristic that brought about the hike in demand and usage of the cannabis plant.

The component responsible for this intoxicating feeling is another popular compound: tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

CBD products come in many forms. The most popular products in the market include CBD oil tinctures, CBD soft gels and capsules, CBD gummies, and CBD topicals.

There are many ways to introduce CBD to your body. You can ingest them orally as that is the fastest way for CBD to read the bloodstream.

Further, some prefer external CBD products through direct skin application. There are CBD topicals, salves, and creams available for this method.

CBD exhibits great potential in the treatment of emotional and other forms of anxiety disorders.

A report published by the Journal of Neurotherapeutics showed promise of CBD managing anxiety symptoms. The basis of the results came from tons of experimental research, clinical trials, and epidemiological studies.

The authors of the studies had enough reason to conclude that the cannabis derivative is capable of rendering great help when it comes to the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, obsessive, compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic disorder.

However, there is a warning from the author of the research.

They warned that as of now, there is a limit to human-based research on CBD in relation to anxiety and anxiety-based disorders.

CBD and Cardiac Well-being

The effect of CBD on heart health is also worthy of note.

A study published in the JCI insight journal sometime in 2017 observed that CBD may assist in tackling changes in blood pressure as a result of stress.

9 male volunteers were the basis for this clinical trial. Doctors administered one dose each of either CBD edibles or placebo.

They discovered that those who got treated with CBD edibles experienced a relatively lower blood pressure before and after they went through a stressful episode.

CBD Safety Concerns

As harmless as it may look, there are growing concerns regarding the use of CBD extracts.

Pregnant mothers and nursing mothers have also been cautioned on the usage of CBD-infused products on a report from the pediatrics journal by the American Academy of Pediatrics (APP).

The warning was based on the possibility of an adverse effect it will have on the growth of their babies.

It can either be affected by mother-fetus interaction for pregnant women or breast milk suckling for nursing mothers.

Consequently, experts advise pregnant or nursing women to side with caution and avoid CBD altogether.

Experts have yet to fully understand the complete capabilities of cannabis and CBD-infused products. While many consumers are claiming that CBD has helped them with their medical conditions, it is paramount to seek medical advice before trying out CBD products.

It is also important to procure CBD products from reliable brands that conduct third-party lab testing on their hemp oil extracts.

Buying from trusted CBD companies can help users avoid contaminated CBD that results in unwanted health complications.

Is CBD Legal? Hemp-derived CBD products (with less than 0.3 percent THC) are legal on the federal level but are still illegal under some state laws. Check your state’s laws and those of anywhere you travel. Keep in mind that nonprescription CBD products are not FDA-approved.
