Kia Motors USA plays host at ‘Asian Media NBA Night’

LOS ANGELES – Award-reaping Kia Motors celebrated and thanked its ethnic media partners Dec. 7 with a fabulous evening to remember at its “Asian Media NBA Night” at the Staples Center where the Los Angeles Clippers took on the newly buffed Golden State Warriors.

One lucky media personality, Candace Mak of Sky Link TV, won the raffled Grand Prize, a 2016 Cadenza. Another journalist won a basketball with Blake Griffin’s signature, and yet another, a signed game shirt from the Cavalier’s Lebron James.

In June of this year, J.D. Power recognized Kia Motors America as the highest scoring nameplate in its 2016 Initial Quality Study (IQS) out of all 33 makes in the U.S. It marks the first time in 27 years that a non-premium brand has topped the rankings.

IQS revealed that KIA owners report fewer issues with their vehicles within the first 90 days of ownership than all other car and truck brands in the U.S.

In 2015, Kia placed second in the industry in IQS and its rise to the top in this year’s ranking was driven by segment-leading performances from Sportage and Soul.

The 2016 Optima and 2016 Sedona have been named winners in the AutoPacific 2016 Ideal Vehicle Awards (IVA) in the mid-size car and minivan categories, respectively.

Kia Motors ranked highest among all popular brands in the 2016 AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards (VSA) – ahead of luxury brands such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. In addition, the 2016 Soul, Optima and Sedona were named segment winners in the VSA.
