BTS Jungkook returns to Instagram, hits 1 million followers in an hour

With 8 million followers, and definitely counting, he’s finally back with a brand new Instagram account.
BTS’ Jungkook made a surprise comeback to the platform with a brand-new handle, @mnijungkook. The announcement was not made through a polished post or teaser as it came during an unannounced Instagram Live session, where Jungkook was casually joined by fellow BTS members RM and V.

During the livestream, the “Seven” singer explained the playful meaning behind his new username. “The full form of the user ID is: My Name Is Jungkook,” he said, keeping things simple and endearing just the way fans love him.
The reveal sparked an immediate reaction, with the account gaining over 1 million followers in under an hour. As of this writing, the number has already surpassed 8.1 million, which proves that ARMYs worldwide have been eagerly waiting for his digital comeback.

He also followed the other BTS members.
Jungkook’s return also comes at a meaningful moment for BTS. Following the completion of their mandatory military service in June, the group is now officially back in action. They’ve set their sights on Los Angeles as the creative headquarters for their 2026 comeback preparations.

On July 6, RM was spotted arriving in LA, soon followed by SUGA, Jimin and Jungkook on July 7.
The group is said to have launched a special songwriting camp to begin work on their upcoming full-length album, their first group release since BE in 2020. It’s also expected to kick off a new world tour, their first since “Permission to Dance on Stage.”
