Filipino American internet star Bella Poarch is finally back in the Philippines for the first time in 14 years. And she made sure nothing, not even a painful stye, would stop her from reconnecting with her roots.

Earlier this year, Poarch hinted at her desire to return to her homeland. Now, she’s turned that dream into reality and is sharing the journey with fans via TikTok.

Despite facing an unexpected health hiccup upon arrival, the singer and social media personality powered through with determination and humor.

Fresh off a grueling 14-hour flight, the Fil-Am star skipped the sightseeing and went straight to the hospital for last-minute surgery. “I don’t know why but every single time I travel, s**t always happens,” she joked. But cancel her shoot? Absolutely not.

Thanks to the quick hands of Filipino doctors and the warmth of local nurses, the surgery was a breeze. “The surgery went so [smoothly] and I’m so grateful for the Filipino nurses and doctors that took care of me,” she said.

Bretman Rock even commented, “Wait they ate that surgery up lol.”

Still rocking post-surgery gauze, Poarch set her sights on Bohol — and it didn’t disappoint according to her.

“When we got to our hotel in Bohol we were greeted with a surprise,” she shared, beaming in her video update. Fans saw her glowing as she unwrapped her bandages, announcing, “No bruise, no swelling. And now I’m ready for the Philippines.”

On Instagram, Bella later posted a beautifully edited video of her Bohol adventures: turquoise waters, warm smiles and a healed eye in full glam.

Despite her parents not encouraging her to speak Tagalog growing up, Bella proudly remains fluent, thanks to her early schooling. Now, she’s back home, reconnecting with her roots.

And one thing’s for sure, she came back fierce, funny and fully Filipino.
