Following BTS member Jungkook’s generous contribution of 1 billion won (approximately $680,000) to support wildfire recovery efforts in South Korea, fellow bandmate Jin has quietly stepped into action – this time not with a check, but with his time and hands.

Jin was recently seen volunteering at a temporary relief center set up at Gilan Middle School in Andong City, where he helped serve hot meals to wildfire victims and emergency responders.

Dressed discreetly in a black cap, grey apron and face mask, Jin seemed to keep a low profile while participating in the effort, blending in with the rest of the volunteers.

The initiative is part of a larger relief campaign led by Theborn Korea, founded by celebrity chef Baek Jong-won, a close friend of Jin. Since March 28, the organization has been delivering over 300 hot meals daily to evacuees and emergency workers affected by the devastating blazes in South Korea’s southeastern regions.

In a statement released through BIGHIT Music, the agency representing BTS, Jin said, “I decided to volunteer because I wanted to offer even a small amount of support to those affected.”

His gesture quickly went viral on social media, with fans praising his quiet yet powerful contribution.

“Supporting financially is great, but offering your time? That’s kindness in action,” one user commented. Another wrote, “Setting the right example—totally what a guy he is.”

The wildfires forced nearly 27,000 residents to evacuate, disrupting daily life and cutting off access to roads and communication. Donations have poured in nationwide, with over 110 billion won ($75 million) raised through multiple organizations, including the Korea Disaster Relief Association and the Korean Red Cross.

While Jin was spotted in Andong, Jungkook’s donation made headlines as one of the largest single contributions to Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association.

Meanwhile, J-Hope quietly added his name to the list of BTS members supporting causes, having donated 100 million won to assist victims of the recent Jeju Air crash.
