Jungkook’s ‘I AM STILL THE ORIGINAL’ extended series: Here’s what to expect
Every day, BTS members give their fans new reasons to rejoice, thanks to their remarkable achievements and solo projects, especially as the year draws to a close.
One such highlight is Disney+’s upcoming release of the extended series “JUNG KOOK: I AM STILL THE ORIGINAL.”
Premiering on Dec. 3, the three-part series delves deeper into the journey of BTS member Jungkook as he embarked on his solo career and unveiled his groundbreaking debut album, “Golden.”
Originally released on Sept. 18, the documentary captured the hearts of over 1.38 million viewers worldwide and broke records as the highest-grossing music film of 2023.
It particularly shone in Japan, drawing approximately 300,000 admissions, making it the most successful Korean film in the country this year.
In North America, it landed in the top 10 at the box office during its opening weekend.
What to expect
The extended series promises even more exclusive content, with unseen interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and collaborations, including Jungkook’s work with R&B legend Usher.
ARMYs are also treated to additional live performances that were absent from the original film. These include a showcase of Golden album tracks such as “Closer to You,” “Yes or No,” “Please Don’t Change” and “Short Glass of Tears,” as well as his cherished solo track, “Still with You.”
Highlighting the series is the full broadcast of Jungkook’s Golden Live On Stage, held in November. This feature alone adds approximately 55 minutes of never-before-seen content.
Released in November 2023, Golden marked Jungkook’s official entry as a solo artist with chart-topping hits like “Standing Next to You,” “Seven” and “3D.”
More than the series, “Golden” now has a vinyl record. Building on the path paved by his fellow BTS members J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Suga, who have all launched their own solo vinyl releases, Jungkook also joined the trend with a vinyl edition of his album.
This special release is available worldwide, including in South Korea, Japan, US and Europe.
