WATCH: Saweetie drops new summer anthem ‘Nani’
This summer just got a little hotter as Filipino American artist Saweetie released her newest summer anthem, “Nani.”
The “Richivities” rapper described her latest single not just as a track, but as “the soundtrack to a good time.”
The music video, which has already garnered 1.2 million views as of writing, features Saweetie glowing in all pink aesthetics, reminiscent of “Barbie.”
The repetitive chorus, “Ooh, got that nani, nani, nani (Nani) / How she walks through swingin’ that body,” is catchy enough to groove to the beat again and again.
“This track definitely gives [the] main character energy,” she shared in her press release. “This single has been a labor of love, and it’s just the beginning. I’ve been working on this new music for a while, and I’m excited to share more of this journey with you.”
On the flip side, in a nod to one of her inspirations, the Fil-Am saluted Grace Jones on the icon’s 76th birthday, thanking her for inspiring the cover art of “Nani.”

“Happy birthday to THE ICON, Grace Jones,” she wrote on X…The inspiration behind the Nani cover.”
The artwork for “Nani” is directly inspired by the cover of Jones’ 1985 greatest hits album, “Island Life.” Captured by Jean-Paul Goude, the iconic pose depicts the nearly nude singer in a montage of various poses, culminating in an impossible arabesque. Meanwhile, Saweetie’s rendition showcases her holding a lime-green hair dryer, dispersing her bubblegum pink locks, in contrast to the original microphone.
“We gon’ f__ up the Summer,” she wrote while officially announcing “Nani” on her social media.

This release follows her collaboration with Indian actor and musician Diljit Dosanjh on the song “Khutti,” where it marked Saweetie’s debut venture with an Indian artist. She also released a song “Richivities” that showcases her lavish lifestyle and a collaboration with Fil-Am rapper P-Lo for a new 49ers playoff song. She is best known for her song “ICY GRL.”
