US-based Angat Buhay foundation to hold fundraisers for Angat Pinas

NEW YORK CITY – In a continuing gesture of community building and dedication to the socio-economic advancement of the Philippines, the Angat Buhay Foundation USA, the primary international partner of Angat Pinas, is set to hold a series of fundraisers starting this weekend in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York/New Jersey. The events are aimed at helping strengthen the advocacy work initiated by former Vice President Leni Robredo and sustained through Angat Pinas’ ongoing efforts
Angat Buhay (uplifting lives) is an initiative that has captured the hearts of Filipinos both at home and abroad. It originated as a key anti-poverty program under the leadership of Atty. Robredo and has since evolved into a powerful movement that galvanizes support from across the globe. The program’s focus on community-driven development has made a significant impact, encouraging widespread support from the Filipino diaspora who contribute through donations, volunteer work and advocacy.
This global Filipino connection is at the forefront as the foundation prepares for charity dinners and luncheons in different cities across America, along with a roundtable discussion aimed at engaging corporate entities with interests in the Philippines. These events serve to strengthen the philanthropic ties that bind the Fil-Am communities to our motherland’s welfare.
Roger Santos, executive director of Angat Buhay Foundation in the US, announced the charity events with optimism, alongside the committed team at Angat Pinas, and with the guidance of the former VP. Local partners in the US include prominent community leaders Rocio Nuyda, Charina Vergara, and Gloria Caoile. Santos said they have all been instrumental in bringing these events to fruition.
Santos, who has a long history of philanthropic work via Couples for Christ, said these events are essential in highlighting the transformative work of Angat Buhay and “in encouraging our Fil-Am communities to actively support Angat Buhay’s four advocacy pillars.”
“Angat Buhay USA is excited to introduce an Endowment Fund and a Corporate Matching Program that will ensure the sustainability of the organization’s core advocacy pillars: Public Education, Public Health, Community Engagement and Empowerment, Climate Action and Sustainability and Arts and Culture. These pillars support various flagship projects, including educational programs, food security initiatives and disaster relief operations.”
Santos added that the strategic nature of the corporate matching gifts provide immediate support, while the endowment fund represents a long-term commitment to the vision and objectives of Angat Buhay. “This fund is an investment in the future, generating earnings that will fund the organization’s vital work for years to come.”
