Fil-Canadian pop-punk artist Mico to drop latest song ‘Deserve This’
Filipino Canadian artist Mico continues to steadily rake a devoted following for his music, spearheading the resurgence of pop-punk among today’s generation.
Following his successful “Fantasy” North American tour last year and gearing up to support the acclaimed JUNO Award-winning group “Walk off the Earth,” the pop-punk singer-songwriter is set to release his latest single next month.
Titled “Deserve This,” the upcoming song will be available for streaming starting April 5, marking the conclusion of the “Tears” era and signaling the dawn of a new musical chapter.

This current era notably features the EP “The Tears We Fight,” featuring fan favorites like “Another Soul,” “Peaked” and “Maybe I’m The Problem Now,” alongside three additional tracks “Better,” “Treat Your Friends” and “Twenty-something” from the “Afterparty EP” released on Dec. 6.
Taking to Instagram to announce the release, the Toronto-based artist shared what appears to be the cover photo for the song, crediting collaborators 254body, 254Eljay, Liam Clarke and Nico Tripodi for their contributions to the writing and production process.
Excitement rippled through Mico’s fanbase, known as Amicos, with comments flooding in expressing anticipation for the release. One user commented, “I love your music, please don’t die,” while another said, “Oh, we’re back like never before.”
While specific details about the song remain under wraps, Liam Clarke, one of the song’s writers and producers, teased fans by jokingly threatening to leak it, prompting a playful response from Mico himself, “I’ll beat you to it.”
In addition to his upcoming single release, Mico is slated to open for “Walk off the Earth” at Southam Hall, Ottawa on May 4, and at Budweiser Stage, Toronto on June 1.
The Fil-Canadian performer currently holds almost 400K monthly listeners on Spotify. Meanwhile, “Deserve This” is now available for pre-saving.
