Aubrey Miles sells rare plant for P1 million
During the pandemic, it seems like Filipinos had become more drawn to taking care of plants, finding solace and purpose in nurturing greenery amid the uncertainty.
With many spending more time indoors due to lockdowns and restrictions, tending to houseplants provided a therapeutic escape from the stresses of the outside world, making them a certified “plantita.”
And Filipino actress Aubrey Miles just spilled the beans on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” about selling one of her plants for a million pesos.
As Abunda probed into Miles’ revenue during the pandemic, the discussion took a turn towards her plant business.
When asked about her most lucrative plant sale, Miles beamed with pride, “P1 million. Spiritus sancti, from Brazil kasi siya, from the rainforest, very rare.”
“Hindi mo siya mahahanap basta kung ibebenta sa mga ganito. Kailangan mo siya talagang i-hunt,” she added, emphasizing the rarity of her botanical treasure.
Talking about a green jackpot, this rare plant can go for anywhere between $500 to $5,000.
She elaborated further on her plant business strategy, explaining that upon initially purchasing the plant, she allowed it to mature before propagating or trimming leaves for resale.
“Para mas dumami. Kung binili ko ‘yun ng 1 million, go-grow ko lang siya. Benta ko ng [P300,000], tas yung isa, [P200,000]. Mga ilang leaves lang ‘yun ah. Mga two, ganyan,” she mentioned.
With her plant profits, the TV personality even bought a property in Antipolo. She posted on her Instagram, “Would you believe parts of this investment “KATAS NG HALAMAN”? Maraming makaka relate dito.”
