Fil-Am hip-hop artist MBNel set to perform at Sinulog
“I’m just tryna turn this eight to infinity.”
The eldest child of first-generation immigrants, MBNel channels his family’s work ethic in everything he does as well as embodies the passion of Stockton, California where he was raised.
This is evident in all the Filipino-American artist’s releases since 2017, such as “Feelings” in 2019 but more recently, in his late 2023 album and his most massive release so far, “8 To Infinity.”
“I’ve been experiencing different things, and I’m telling a different story musically,” said Nel on his latest release, according to his US label Empire. “I feel that I’m going to a new place creatively.”
The record features focus track “Bag Chasin,” the eargasmic “Hurricane,” the reflective “Dream,” and other tracks—like those featuring Mozzy, Yung Bleu, and Millyz—that prove he’s able to attract more audiences into his space.
This 2024, MBNel is thrilled to visit the Philippines, his first time since childhood and consequently his first time as a professional artist, too. On Instagram, he shared that he will be performing at Sinulog this Jan. 21.

Last October, MBNel shared the stage with EZ Mil and other Fil-Am artists in New York City at a Spotify Showcase celebrating Filipino heritage.
