So, what’s the secret behind this epic deal? It comes down to one music video. On Twitter, Eminem confirmed the record signing and shared that the Fil-Am rapper’s “Up Down (Step & Walk)” music video is what enticed the two to sign Ez Mil.
A bonus to this deal? We’re here for it — his album will feature Eminem. Get ready for a music explosion as these two rap powerhouses work together on the song “Realest.” It will be released on Aug.11.
Eminem tweeted with a link to the video, “This is why we signed him.” Talk about making your first impression.

Ez Mil released the DU4LI7Y single’s video, “Up Down” in February. It gained interest from fans who noticed the song style’s similarities to Eminem.
After a month, the legendary rapper heard the song. Ez Mil didn’t think twice and drove from Vegas to Los Angeles to link up with Dre and Eminem.
Eminem said in a statement, “We’ve never been out there signing a lot of artists, and one of the great things about how we built Shady is how selective we’ve been.”
He was in awe when he heard Ez’s music and said, ‘This is really special’. So I took it to Dre. We both agreed it would be a great fit, and we wanted to work with him right on the spot.”
Dre said that he’s only interested in working on songs with unique sounds, “and only then if I feel I can really bring something to it. Em played me Ez and I had that feeling…that thing that happens when we both know we’ve found something special. And that was it….let’s get to work.”
Dre and Eminem have a reputation for discovering talents and honing them into greatness. One example is 50 Cent, who rose to stardom after signing in with their record label.
Who is Ez Mil?
EZ Mil was born and raised in Olongapo City, Philippines, to Filipino parents who are both singers. His father is the lead vocalist of the Filipino band Rockstar.
During his college years, EZ moved to the US and set his path to a music career. He started recording and producing his own songs —”idk” is the first song he produced. It’s not surprising how he is now rising to fame as Americans are already reviewing his songs on YouTube even before, with one gaining 1.4m views.
A major breakthrough came for him when his song “Panalo” became the NBA 2k23 soundtrack. But this song was also involved in some controversies due to its lyrics.
He also performed the ever-patriotic “Panalo,” “Re-Up,” and the exceptional song “Up Down” in the NBA halftime of the LA Clippers and Utah Jazz game.
