US-based Filipino-Indian artist Ashley Mehta joins Lyn Lapid’s Epilogue tour
Does your 2024 bucket list include catching up on live shows? While you still have that “clean slate” kind of energy, why not start with artists that can throw you into a multitude of emotions and help you be connected with yourself—even with feelings that you think are “ugly”?
One of the songs you can trust with this is a 2023 track called “Self Destruction Mode.” As the title suggests, the song treads along the self-loathing category, and gets real about the fear of being vulnerable and getting people too close, because of the self-awareness that things aren’t exactly okay internally. (And it’s only fitting that its music video features a rage room.)
In case it hasn’t landed on your playlists yet, the track is by 24-year-old Ashley Mehta. Hailing from the Bay Area, this Filipino-Indian artist integrates “pop, R&B, [hiphop], and electronic music” to produce an “ebullient, yet unique sound,” according to her official site. Her latest EP “Trust,” released in 2022, is a testament to this; add up her soulful vocals and you’d definitely be curious how her discography unfolds live.

Good news is that Mehta actually has some performances lined up. After making stops in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, and more, the singer is set to visit more places in the US—especially since she’s set to support Filipino-American artist Lyn Lapid’s “The Epilogue” tour.
On Jan. 5, Mehta took to Instagram to share her thrill about joining her fellow Gen Z artist. “Beyond excited to announce that I’ll be supporting da queen herself @_lynlapid on her Epilogue Tour!!! I am sooo stoked to see [your] beautiful faces in each city!!!” she wrote at the start of the caption.

In the comments, Lapid penned a response to her guest act, “[It’s] gonna be [so much] fun [with you],” coupled with dancing emojis.
According to the same post, fans will be able to catch the two artists on various dates from Jan. 19 (Kansas City) to Feb. 8 (Nashville). Other locations include Saint Louis, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Boston, Philadelphia, Richmond, Durham, and Tampa.
Do note, though, that people have been calling dibs fast—shows are currently running low on tickets, if not completely sold out.

In October last year, Mehta and Lapid were also in the same lineup in a music platform’s celebration of Filipino Heritage Month.

“A lot of times, I try to look at my own experiences at a different lens. A lot of times, I try to look at it through a third person lens just to see, you know, how other people would feel in that sort of situation,” said Lapid during a 2023 Scout interview after releasing “to love in the 21st century,” her latest EP.
“And I guess that is how I help translate my own very personal experiences to lyrics that are more relatable and can be understood by my listeners.”
