At just 16, Filipino rapper Alex Bruce headlined a FIBA halftime performance for an international brand, solidifying that the future of Filipino hip-hop is alive and thriving today—and with her as an integral part of the scene.

This time though, she’s not performing alone as the young rapper has joined forces with O Side Mafia’s Costa Cashman for their latest track, “Bling.”

With the new song serving as the latest chapter in her musical venture, the track not only follows the success of “Betty Bruce” but also contributes to the unfolding layers of her artistry.

In contrast to the sassier and classier alter ego that “Betty Bruce” exudes, this collaboration introduces a fresh dimension to her repertoire, demonstrating her ability to navigate diverse musical landscapes.

The song emanates a different vibe born out of the collaboration between Costa Cashman and BRGR. It captivates listeners with its mix of swaggy Filipino and English verses, evoking a sense of angst in everyone who hears the chorus, “ngayon kita mo ‘yung swag (now you see the swag).”

From Batangas, Bruce made her debut in the music scene at 11, delivering energetic verses over trap beats—a distinctive choice given the genre’s traditional emphasis on topics such as drug use, violence, and promiscuity.
