Filipino racing sensation Bianca Bustamante turned heads at Leicester Square in London as she attended the premiere of Netflix’s newest docuseries “F1: The Academy,” which officially debuts on May 28.
The McLaren Development Programme driver is one of the young talents featured in the newly launched Netflix docuseries, which dives deep into the lives and challenges of women breaking barriers in motorsport. The series is produced by Reese Witherspoon’s media company “Hello Sunshine.”

“It’s out!” the 20-year-old Fil-Am driver shared in an Instagram post after the premiere. “Gosh I didn’t think this was something I would’ve gotten to experience in my lifetime. It was a pleasure and one hell of a ride.”
She also took a moment to thank the key figures in her journey, including her “papaya family” (McLaren), the F1 Academy community and her loyal supporters, Team Bia.
In a message posted to her Instagram Stories during the premiere, Bustamante expressed her deep gratitude to her fellow Filipinos. “To everyone watching, obviously to everyone back home in the Philippines, this honestly means the whole world to my countrymen,” she said.
She also added in Filipino, “Maraming salamat sa mga sumusuporta at sa suporta pa, sana magustuhan niyo ‘to, at para sa bayan,” dedicating her achievement to her homeland.
Beyond the screen, Racer Bia continues to sprint on the track. She recently secured her best finish yet – 13th place – in Round 2 of the GB3 Championship, and she’s now gearing up for Round 3 at Belgium’s iconic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
Eager to push her limits and go wheel-to-wheel with the world’s quickest young talents, Bustamante welcomes both the nerves and the hustle.
“This championship is so competitive, but this is exactly where I want to be,” said the Filipina racer, who remains steadfast in carving out her place on the global motorsport stage.
