Bianca Bustamante wraps up filming for Netflix series

Bianca Bustamante is racing not just for glory but to inspire a new generation of motorsport enthusiasts, and she’s about to do that in an upcoming Netflix documentary.
As the first Filipina McLaren Development driver, the Filipino American driver is roaring her engines on the international stage while remaining deeply committed to promoting motorsport in her homeland, the Philippines.
Her mission is about to take center stage in an upcoming Netflix documentary, which wrapped up filming in January 2025.
During her “Race to Inspire” event in Manila last year, she started filming some clips including her Filipino fans.

The series will soon delve into the groundbreaking all-female F1 Academy, highlighting its 2024 season and the challenges and triumphs faced by its drivers.
Bustamante took to Instagram to express her excitement about the project, saying, “That’s a wrap!! Finished our last on set filming with [Netflix] for the F1 Academy documentary show.”
“It’s beeeeen such a pleasure sharing this important and special chapter in my life with all of you, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it! Coming out this year!!” She concluded her post with, “F1 Academy BB16 signing off.”
Netflix’s series, launching also in 2025, is giving Formula 1 fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the academy’s 2024 campaign.
“I am very much [excited]. It’s a great opportunity for us to showcase what we have, our talent, and to introduce ourselves to the world,” she shared in an interview with Express Sport at McLaren Headquarters.
In 2025, Bustamante will take another leap in her career by competing in the GB3 Championship with Elite Motorsport. Known for her resilience and ambition, she is ready to embrace this new challenge and push the limits of her craft.
Through her inspiring journey, Bustamante continues to break barriers and pave the way for future racers in the Philippines and around the world.
