Did Olivia Rodrigo just confirm a PH stop for her ‘Guts’ tour?
2023 has been an eventful year for Olivia Rodrigo.
From releasing her chart-dominating sophomore record “Guts” to co-writing and singing the official opening track of “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes,” the Gen Z pop sensation certainly had her hands full over the past few months.
Will her “booked and busy” era spill over into 2024, though?
Well, if we consider her six Grammy 2024 nominations and upcoming world tour that promises to rock big stages, it seems that Rodrigo doesn’t plan on slowing down—at least not until next year.

A potential “Guts” PH
In a recent podcast interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 20-year-old musician revealed more details about her “Guts” tour and the emotions that come with transitioning from intimate gigs to playing massive stadiums and arenas.
Rodrigo—always one to keep it authentic—expressed her excitement about belting out teen angst anthems in a bigger setting: “I’m so stoked. I think it’s going to be so much fun to play those kinds of rock songs in an arena. I’m so excited to feel that energy.”
And guess what? The Philippines might just be able to experience that thrill firsthand. “I am so excited to go places that I haven’t been before,” Rodrigo said. “I’m really excited to go to the Philippines—I’ve never been—so that’s going to be fun.”

The Grammy-nominated artist had always been vocal about wanting to tour the country, but this was most likely the closest to a confirmation we could get (so far) about her potential visit.
So, for the Filipino fans wanting to catch Rodrigo in their homeland, you’ve got two options—save up now to secure yourself a ticket or go through the stages of grief for doing otherwise.
Olivia Rodrigo on being biracial, plus more “Guts” tour revelations
The singer-songwriter also opened up about her biracial background in the same podcast chat. “The schools that I grew up going to were always very diverse, and I had a lot of Filipino friends growing up,” she explained.
She admitted that she didn’t pay much attention to how important her craft was until she entered the industry. “[People] would be like, ‘Oh, wow. It’s so nice to see Asian representation in music!’ And I was like, ‘Oh, yeah. That’s cool. Yeah, I’m that.’”

Besides touring with an all-women live band, Rodrigo also spilled the beans on her opening acts: The Breeders, Chappell Roan, PinkPantheress, Remi Wolf, and “a few others.”
Do you think she’d choose a Filipino act for her (unconfirmed) PH stop? We can only speculate for now.
