The much-awaited Disneyland Forward project promises to change the theme park, ushering in a new stage for excitement and wonder. As resort officers reveal their expansion plans, the Anaheim neighborhood is eager to learn about the exciting transformations and their impact on their community.

In Disney’s efforts to include the nearby community in their plans, the resort has even hosted coffee events at local parks to explain their project proposal.

These meetings allow the Anaheim neighbors to understand and learn about the exciting transformations. They can also ask questions about the expansion.

The initiative started in 2022 after the announcement of expansions in March 2021. It has sparked the interest and attention of Disney enthusiasts and residents.

In 2021, Disneyland officers clarified that they don’t plan to ask Anaheim for additional space for the expansion. But instead, the widening will use underdeveloped areas around the theme park they already own.

Significant areas of interest include the two Disney hotels west of the theme parks and the parking lot area at the east part of the resort. In addition, the proposed plan also aims to update the zoning code of underdeveloped places.

It will pave the way for the hotel, theme park, dining, retail, and entertainment additions to be built in the area. Although Disney officers had expressed interest before in adding a third entrance, they ditched that plan.

Envisioning a World of Possibilities for Disneyland’s Expansion

While Disneyland never revealed the cost of these expansions, the company has confirmed that the project will be privately funded. As for what the new addition will look like, fans are assuming a potential “Frozen,” “Tangled,” or “Zootopia” themed areas.

The Disneyland Forward Project is not included in the current renovations to other resort parts, like Downtown Disney. The Orange County Register said that some establishments like Uva Bar and Catal Restaurant have closed to give way for the additions in the downtown neighborhood.
