Filipino in Vancouver wins $1 million lotto prize

A Filipino in Surrey, Metropolitan Vancouver, British Columbia won a $1-million Maxmillions prize from the Lotto Max draw.

Jayson Madarang said he cried tears of joy upon learning last Oct. 18 that he had the winning Scratch Off ticket. Then he went to work.

He said the prize “will change my life in certain ways.” But first, he and his wife will go on a vacation to the Philippines to visit family.

Madarang bought his ticket at Petro Canada on Victoria Drive in Vancouver. This year B.C. lottery players have claimed more than $159 million from Lotto Max.
