Tesla CEO Elon Musk is unfazed if a mass resignation of Twitter employees occurs. He said it is “fine,” and he’s not worried. His proposed takeover left the Twitter employees in doubt.

Last week, Elon Musk acquired Twitter for $44 billion. This is following bouts of confusing issues. One of which is when he started to be Twitter’s largest shareholder and future board member. Then he stepped down from the seat and straightly offered to buy Twitter.

Upon regulatory and pending shareholders’ approval, all will be set for Twitter’s purchase. Twitter employees felt troubled after the news broke out. Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal held an all-hands meeting with the employees last week. Here, he openly asked questions from his employees.

On the night of the Met Gala, Musk told Reuters about his reaction to an impending departure of employees.

Musk said, “It’s a free country. Certainly, if anyone doesn’t feel comfortable with that, they will go somewhere else of their own accord. That’s fine.”

While Twitter was filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, They stated Elon’s potential acquisition risks. One of which is the probable loss of staff. “We may experience a departure of employees before the merger’s closing.”

In addition, the former Twitter executive also made a revelation in an interview. According to the executive, since the news of Musk’s purchase, they are receiving daily inquiries from Twitter employees. These employees are asking for possible job opportunities.

The former executive said, “Any sense that an exodus is building is correct.” There are even three employees who confirmed the news. There are already ongoing talks inside the company about searching for a new job.

Employees’ reaction to Elon Musk’s acquisition

One employee said, “It’s all about Elon. There will be some sort of exodus event from those who disapprove of him.”

One of the foreseen reasons for the potential resignation is Musks’s plan to change and loosen Twitter’s rules. It’s no secret that Elon Musk aims to change content moderation. Experts and analysts told Insider that this could lead to the emergence of misinformation and hate speech.

Another factor employees are troublesome about is Elon Musk’s reputation of being a workaholic. However, a smaller workforce will not make Elon Musk troublesome. Reliable sources told the Washington Post that Elon Musk had proposed job cuts as his strategy to improve Twitter’s bottom line.
