Britney Spears announces she is pregnant with her third child
On Monday, pop star Britney Spears shared her pregnancy news in an Instagram post. She is expecting her first baby with actor Sam Ashgari. The 40-year-old star got engaged with Ashgari in September 2021.
Spears announced the news with an Instagram post saying, “I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back. I thought, ‘Geez.. what happened to my stomach??’ My husband said, ‘No, you’re food pregnant silly!!!’ So I got a pregnancy test, and uhhhh well. I am having a baby.”
Later that day of the announcement, Ashgari wrote on his Instagram post. He posted, “Marriage and kids are a natural part of a strong relationship filled with love and respect. Fatherhood is something I have always looked forward to, and I don’t take it lightly. It is the most important job I will ever do.”

In most of her current posts, she refers to Ashgari as “husband.” Although the two haven’t confirmed if they ever got married yet. Spears first met Ashgari in 2016 in her song “Slumber Party.”
Fans were delighted when the news broke out. As it’s no secret that Spears just came out and got free from her 13-year conservatorship. This announcement is a relief and solid proof that Britney Spears enjoys her freedom.
In June, Spears revealed to a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge that the conservatorship completely controlled her life. She was denied any doctor’s appointment adhering to removing her IUD. Although she appealed to the court to drop the legal arrangement, which she claimed was “abusive.”

In November 2021, the court dismissed Spears’ conservatorship after over 13 years. A few months before the arrangement’s termination, Spears shared her testimony of “conservatorship abuse” in court. The so-called “abuse” includes her restriction of starting a family with Ashgari. Her guardians restricted her from removing her birth control device.

However, the singer’s legal battle was still in progress. Spears’ attorney was still attending the court, fighting against her parents’ claims regarding finances.
Moreover, this is the first baby of Ashgari and Spears. However, she has two teenage sons, 16 and 15, with Kevin Federline. He is her former backup dancer whom Spears married in 2004. They split up in 2007.
