The Weeknd unveils new album ‘Dawn FM’
The Weekend reveals his new album Dawn FM on Friday. While he already dropped a teaser days before the album launch, this fifth studio album release The Weekend is certainly kicking off this new year. And so are the fans who’ll soon be singing the singer’s great pop tracks.
His new album announcement came in before in an Instagram post. He captioned, “Happy New Year! Everything feels chaotic again. Music can heal and that feels more important than another album rollout. Let’s just drop the whole thing and enjoy it with the people… XO.” A few days after this social media post The Weekend followed up with the new album’s title Dawn FM and a tracklist.

Dawn FM includes 16 songs that start with the title track. Some of the songs in the album are, “How Do I Make You Love Me?”, “Take My Breath”, “A Tale”, “Out of Time”, and “Gasoline.” Aside from the great tracks on the album, there are also featured collaborations. The Weekend teamed up with Tyler, the Creator, Lil Wayne, Quincy Jones, Oneohtrix Point Never, and actor Jim Carrey.

Jim Carrey complimented The Weekend’s new album. He tweeted “I listened to Dawn FM with my good friend Abel @theweekend last night. It was deep and elegant and it danced me around the room. I’m thrilled to play a part in his symphony.”

Abel Tesfaye, the red name behind The Weekend certainly knows how to please the people by doing things his way. Over the last decades, his character-driven and moody songwriting has always been a hit in the world of pop music. He has collaborations with almost all the top singers in the music industry.

Dawn FM is the album following up the previous album After Hours. In March 2020 this album is set atop the Billboard 200. The hit single Blinding Lights was a chart-topper in Billboard’s Greatest Songs of ALL Time Hot 100. It stayed on the top five list for 43 weeks, breaking the record.
The Weekend had his big break in 2011. Back then he was the biggest name in underground music. He met Drake who brought him to perform at the OVO Festival. From that first major appearance, the rest of the projects followed through.
