Paskuhan sa Chicago celebration, Dec. 14

CHICAGO-The second “Paskuhan sa Chicago” is set at the St. Hillary Church Gym, 5600 N. Fairfield in Chicago, on Sat., Dec. 14, 12 noon-6 p.m., again initiated by Consul General Gina Jamoralin and joinrd by various community organizations.

The first Paskuhan last year drew no fewer than 200 attendees. At press time, 300 have already paid for their reservations for this year’s event which will kick off the Simbang Gabi celebration. The program starts at 12 noon, and will include entertainments, games, exchange gifts, door prizes, and the parol contest. The traditional Noche Buena will be at 2 p.m. and the Simbang Gabi mass at 5 p.m.

Consul General Jamoralin together with other consular officers lead the guests list. There are still limited tickets available. Donation is $25 per person and could be paid through QuickPay, for online payment or issue of a check payable to FANHS-Midwest. The parol contest is open to everyone, but limited to 19 entries. Parols must be homemade, not commercially bought. Must not be less than nine inches and not more than 24 inches in diameter, excluding the tail. Cash prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, & third prize winners. A “People’s Choice” will also be awarded. Participants must be present at the event to qualify.
