Body found in Seattle lake is that of missing Filipino American man

SEATTLE — The body found in this city’s Lake Union last Friday, May 19, was that of Filipino American Rene Elamparo, 27, who had been missing since May 14. A resident noticed a body in the west side of Lake Union and called the authorities.

The death does not appear suspicious, and there were no obvious signs of trauma at the time of recovery, according to Seattle police.

Elamparo was a member of the Shorecrest Hip Hop team and a Shorecrest graduate. Elamparo’s sister, Cathy shared a message with friends and relatives:
Dearest family and friends, 

With our heavy hearts, we are saddened by the loss of my dear little brother. Nene you are loved today, tomorrow and forever.
