The Most Anticipated Must See Movies Movies of 2019
With the end of school and the beginning of summer upon us, families love to share movies with their children when they are out of school.
Everyone loves going to the theater to enjoy an escape. We have compiled a list of the most anticipated movies of 2019. No matter what genre you love the most; you will find one of these movies that will get your attention this summer!
Once Upon A Time in Hollywood
- Release Date: July 26
- Genre: Crime, Comedy, Action, Thriller, Drama
Quentin Tarantino has done it again! This time he is teaming up with Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Kurt Russell, Dakota Fanning, Al Pacino, and Luke Perry.
This movie is set in 1969. It follows an actor and his stunt double and they are both trying to make it big in the movie industry. This is the last film to feature Luke Perry since he died in March of this year.
The movie follows Rick Dalton and Cliff Booth. They are both trying to make it big in the movies. Then we see Sharon Tate and her husband, Roman Polanski. They live in Rick’s house. We will also see Steve McQueen and Mama Cass hanging out at the Playboy Mansion.
Cliff and Rick actually walk in on a scene where the Manson family has kidnapped Tate and many others and they are going to kill them.
Joker
- Release Date: October 4
- Genre: Superhero, Action, Adventure
In this film version of the DC comic, Arthur Fleck, who is one of three different jokers, has quite an odd relationship with his mother. Joaquin Phoenix plays Fleck in this film.
This film is expected to be one of many origin stories from the DC Universe. Along with Phoenix, it stars Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, Marc Maron, Bill Camp, and Brett Cullen. It is set in the ’80s and it focuses on Fleck.
This movie focuses on Fleck and how his career as a comedian is not working out well for him. He is struggling and some would say he begins to go a little bit crazy. Conroy plays his mother and the two of them have quite an intense, yet odd relationship.
This is one of the many reasons that many people say he went a little crazy. We see a lot of Arkham State Hospital in this film. It will mix comedy and tragedy in the world of Gotham City.
The Addams Family
- Release Date: October, on the 11th.
- Genre: Horror comedy
For many of us, we never thought we would see another Addams Family movie. This one is actually an animated version of the same characters we have all grown to love.
In fact, it is 3D and computer animated. Charles Addams, Cousin It, and the gang are back.
This film stars many famous actors as the voices to the characters in the film. We will hear Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Bette Midler, Nick Kroll, and Allison Janney.
In this film, we will see the family in a new house. There will be a lot of hints about the Old Asylum and we will see some crazy family members showing up at their new house.
Toy Story 4
- Release Date: June 21st.
- Genre: Family
Tom Hanks and the gang are returning for another Pixar great. Toy Story 4 begins with a new toy called “Forky” joining Woody and the gang. During this movie, the gang goes on an adventure and a road trip begins. It shows how big our world can be but in the eyes of a toy.
Starring Tom Hanks, Keanu Reeves, Christina Hendricks and more.
Frozen 2
- Release Date: November 22nd.
- Genre: Family
Anna and Elsa embark on an adventure far away from the kingdom of Arendelle. They are joined by their friends, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven.
Frozen 2 stars Evan Rachel Wood, Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, Jonathan Groff, and more.
The Lion King
- Release Date: July 18th
- Genre: Family
The Lion King stars Seth Rogen, Donald Glover, Chiwetel Ejiofor, James Earl Jones, Keegan-Michael Key, Alfre Woodard, Amy Sedaris, Beyonce’, Eric Andre, John Oliver, and more.
After the murder of his father, a young lion prince flees his kingdom only to learn the true meaning of responsibility and bravery.
In Chapter Two
- Release Date: September 6th
- Genre: Horror
Stephen King does it again with It Chapter two. Another Pennywise movie and this time it stars a huge cast. Bill Skarsgard is back as the Pennywise role. James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, and more star in the anticipated horror movie.
The theme is that every 27 years something scary and evil comes back to Derry, Maine. This movie brings back the characters who have gone their separate ways to come back as adults to make sure Pennywise doesn’t return.
Bill Skarsgard could not be any scarier in this movie and even adults are squeamish to find out what happens when the Losers Club comes together one last time in Derry.

Spider-Man: Far From Home
- Release Date: July 2nd.

Star Wars Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker
- Release Date: December 20
- Genre: Science Fiction, Action, Adventure
This is quite possibly the most anticipated movie of the year! So many fans cannot wait for it to come out. Star Wars the rise of Skywalker is going to be amazing.
The Rise of Skywalker has many hints in the title, according to die-hard fans. The Skywalker saga continues.
This is the last movie in the installment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy. J.J. Abrams is producing this one as well.
The cast includes Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Billie Lourd, Keri Russell, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, and Ian McDiarmid.
In the current trailer, we see Rey running from an X-Wing fighter. We are unsure if this is Kylo Ren or if it could be someone else. In this scene, we also hear a voice laughing. Let’s not forget about the knights of Ren, which are Kylo Ren’s elite force of knights who represent the dark side. Will Poe Dameron be able to help Rey in her journey this time.
This has die-hard Star Wars fans on the edge of their seats! They cannot wait to see this movie on Christmas! The quote mentioned on the trailer is “every generation has a legend”. Do we know if Luke Skywalker is the one mentioned in the title or is it simply paying homage to him?
