As the world gears up for Miss Universe 2025, set to take place in Thailand, anticipation builds not only around the contestants but also around the high-profile performers who will grace the stage.
In previous editions, global artists like Ne-Yo and Charlie Puth delivered memorable performances – Ne-Yo during Catriona Gray’s evening gown walk in 2018 and Puth during Pia Wurtzbach’s fierce swimsuit walk in 2015.
For 2025, the spotlight was supposed to shine on one of Thailand’s most internationally recognized stars: Lalisa Manoban, better known as Lisa of Blackpink.

The news was confirmed by Nawat Itsaragrisil, the newly appointed CEO of the Miss Universe Organization. He stated, “The offer couldn’t please Lisa,” confirming that negotiations with her management had ultimately failed.
While the organizers were keen to feature Lisa as a headline act – especially with the pageant being hosted in her native Thailand – her team declined due to scheduling conflicts.
Reports from entertainment outlet Pinkvilla echoed the explanation, with Lisa’s representatives noting that her calendar is fully booked for the remainder of the year.
In recent months, Lisa has taken on numerous international commitments, including filming her acting debut in the acclaimed HBO series “The White Lotus” and continuing her streak of live performances on major stages.
She also made history this year by becoming the first K-pop artist to perform at the Academy Awards and recently collaborated with Maroon 5 on a track titled Priceless.
Meanwhile, excitement for Miss Universe 2025 continues to build. Ticket prices for the highly anticipated event have already been announced, ranging from $74 to $1,475, reflecting the grand scale of the celebration.
Representing the Philippines this year is Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province, who earned her spot after a strong pageant track record. She previously made waves as the first runner-up at Miss International 2018 and recently impressed as a semifinalist at Miss Cosmo 2024.
