Even global pop stars have their own little fears – and Olivia Rodrigo is no exception.
The Filipino American pop superstar recently revealed one of her most unexpected worries while performing live, which is the fear of accidentally peeing her pants on stage.
“I’m afraid I’m going to pee my pants on stage,” the Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter confessed in an interview with People during Planned Parenthood of Greater New York’s Spring into Action Gala. “I’m always scared to drink water before I go on stage,” she added.

That fear, however, doesn’t linger once the lights dim and the curtain falls. Rodrigo shared that after every show, she wastes no time unwinding. Her post-performance routine? Removing her makeup and “[drinking] a ton of water.”
The “Drivers License” hitmaker’s honesty about the less glamorous side of performing is a refreshing glimpse into the life of a superstar who, despite her massive success, remains strikingly down-to-earth.
Still, she hasn’t let that fear stop her from achieving record-breaking milestones.
Earlier this month, she headlined the largest concert of her career at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico, drawing in a roaring crowd of about 65,000 fans, which is bigger than her show in the Philippines.

The show marked a monumental stop on her ongoing tour and further solidified her place among the top-tier of today’s pop elite.
In between gigs, Rodrigo has also been embracing her free spirit. A recent Instagram post, captioned “everywhere but the studio,” showed the singer exploring the vibrant streets of Morocco – serving fashion, fun and her signature touch of chaos.
While the “Vampire” songstress might joke about studio avoidance, it’s clear she’s still writing her story with precision.
With a mix of vulnerability, wanderlust and that ever-present main character energy, the Fil-Am star proves that even the most powerful voices in pop carry a few very human fears – with charm and grace to spare.
