With this recognition, Finnegan joins an elite group, becoming the seventh LSU gymnast to be named a finalist for the award. The announcement was made by Chris Voelz, the executive director of the Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA).
The finalists for gymnastics were selected by a panel of experts and coaches from the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA), further affirming Finnegan’s stature in the sport.
Her achievement also comes on the heels of her recognition as a finalist for the AAI Award, which is given to the nation’s top senior gymnast.
