MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – Filipino American artist LeRoid David’s design has been selected as the official 2026 FIFA World Cup San Francisco Bay Area host city poster, the Bay Area Host Committee (BAHC) has announced.

The BAHC has partnered with local art programs across the region to solicit submissions from Bay Area artists, with entries accepted between Sept. 10 and Dec. 6 last year.

The contest, judged by FIFA and the BAHC, sought a design that would capture the spirit of the Bay Area while celebrating the global game, according to the committee.

“This piece is all about connection—bridging cultures, cities, and the world through football,” said LeRoid David. “I wanted to represent the Bay Area as a hub of innovation, art, and sport, where fans from all over the world will come together to celebrate.”

A San Francisco native and proud second-generation Filipino American, LeRoid is an alumnus of San Francisco State University with an impressive portfolio that includes work for NBC Sports Bay Area, the San Francisco Giants, Golden State Warriors, San Francisco 49ers and San Jose Sharks.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will bring an unprecedented global spotlight to the Bay Area, reinforcing its reputation as a destination for world-class events and technical innovation.

“This is more than a poster—it represents a lasting moment in time,” said BAHC President and CEO Zaileen Janmohamed. “As the FIFA World Cup 26™ is played across 16 cities in three countries for the first time, LeRoid’s design will be etched in history as the Bay Area’s artistic contribution to this unprecedented global celebration of the game.”
