BTS’ Jungkook is rewriting history once more as a soloist.
Even while fulfilling his mandatory military service, the BTS superstar continues to set new records in the global music industry.
His latest achievement? Becoming the fastest Asian artist to surpass 17 million followers on Spotify with his powerhouse position as one of the most influential soloists today.
Jungkook opened his personal Spotify account on Feb. 11, 2022, and since then, he has seen an unprecedented rise and already solidified his position as a powerhouse soloist.
His influence extends far beyond K-pop, as he now has over 40 million monthly listeners, which is more than what any other K-pop soloist in history has reached in listener count.
Jungkook’s chart dominance doesn’t stop there. He has recently secured the No. 23 spot on the US Chartmetrics Foreign Artists Chart, making him the highest-ranking Korean act on the list – outpacing even his very own group, BTS.
Over in the UK, he continues to break barriers, becoming the only Korean soloist to appear on the UK Chartmetrics Foreign Artists Chart at No. 26. By doing so, he stands alongside global icons like Adele, Celine Dion and One Direction.
As Jungkook’s milestones continue to stack up, fans are eagerly looking ahead to BTS’ long-awaited reunion.
RM and V are set to complete their military service on June 10, followed by Jimin and Jungkook on June 11, while Suga will be discharged on June 22.
Their return in 2025 is highly anticipated, fueling speculation about new music and future projects.
Jin, the eldest BTS member, was the first to complete his service in June 2023, with J-Hope following in October 2024. With all seven members reuniting soon, excitement is at an all-time high.
In the meantime, fans can enjoy Jungkook’s extended series “I AM STILL THE ORIGINAL,” now available for streaming on Disney+.
