Blackpink’s Rosé is not yet done breaking records.
The K-pop sensation continues to solidify her place as a trailblazer in the global music scene, achieving yet another feat by officially surpassing American music legend Mariah Carey in one of Billboard’s prestigious charts.
Recently, Billboard confirmed that Rosé’s chart-topping single “APT,” a collaboration with Grammy-winning Filipino American artist Bruno Mars, has maintained its No. 1 position on the Billboard Global Excl. US chart for 15 consecutive weeks.
This achievement breaks the previous record held by Carey’s holiday classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which dominated the chart for 14 weeks.
The track’s success isn’t confined to just one chart. “APT.” has also been enjoying an extended run on the Billboard Hot 100, remaining on the rankings for 16 weeks and currently holding the No. 6 spot.
Its enduring popularity highlights the Blackpink superstar’s impact as a solo artist, proving her ability to capture audiences worldwide beyond her group’s collective achievements.
Adding to the list of accolades, Guinness World Records recently acknowledged Rosé as the first K-pop artist to top the Apple Music Top 100 Global Chart. The historic moment took place on Oct. 24, 2024, when “APT.” reached the chart’s pinnacle.
In an official statement, Guinness said, “Rosé has been confirmed as the first K-pop artist to make it to No. 1 on Apple Music’s Top 100: Global chart. She scored her first No. 1 on October 24th with ‘APT.’”
Before this, Rosé had already set a precedent with her debut album “ROSIE,” which entered the Billboard 200 at No. 3. This accomplishment made her the highest-charting female K-pop artist in history.
Also beyond breaking records, Rosé continues to establish herself as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Her recent achievement also follows another milestone—becoming the first K-pop soloist to secure a Top 10 hit on the UK charts.
