This milestone makes “APT.” the fastest K-pop and Asian music video to reach one billion views on the platform, surpassing the previous record held by Psy’s “Gangnam Style.”
The latter achieved the mark in 159 days after its release on July 15, 2012, becoming the first video in YouTube history to hit one billion views.
With this, “APT.” now stands as the fifth fastest music video overall to reach the one-billion mark.
Meanwhile, Rosé has been stacking up groundbreaking achievements this year. Her recent milestone has also earned her a spot in the Guinness World Records.
She now holds five world records, with her latest recognition coming as the first K-pop artist to top the Apple Music Top 100 Global Chart.
Adding to her growing accolades, the Blackpink member became the first K-pop soloist to secure a Top 10 hit on the UK charts.
Her dominance as a soloist extends to the US as well, where “APT.” has hit the waves on Billboard’s Radio Songs Top 10.
With this achievement, she becomes the first female K-pop artist to enter the chart’s top tier.
Notably, “APT.” has also surpassed “Gangnam Style” in yet another aspect, now holding the record for the highest-charting K-pop solo act on US radio, with Psy’s hit reaching No. 11 in 2012.
