Blackpink’s Rosé makes history as ‘APT.’ enters Billboard’s Radio Songs Top 10
“Hey, so now you know the game / Are you ready? ‘Cause I’m comin’ to get you!”
And yes, she just did. The global music scene is still buzzing from the undeniable success of Blackpink’s Rosé, who continues to break new ground as a solo artist.
The K-pop idol’s hit collaboration with Filipino American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars, “APT.”, has taken the world by storm – and has made history.
The track, which has become an anthem on radio stations across the globe, recently marked an unprecedented milestone by propelling Rosé to the top ranks of the Billboard Radio Songs chart.
Released to wide acclaim, “APT.” has reached new heights in the US music industry.
In December of last year, the track debuted at No. 38 on Billboard’s Radio Songs chart – an achievement that already broke records, as it marked Rosé as the first female K-pop artist to enter the Top 40.
This was a monumental feat for K-pop, a genre known for its international appeal but historically underrepresented in certain US music circles.
Now, Rosé’s chart success has gone even further, with “APT.” ascending to No. 10 on the Billboard Radio Songs chart. This marks the first time a female K-pop solo artist has ever broken into the Top 10.
The track’s rise has also surpassed the legacy of Psy’s Gangnam Style, which held the record for the highest-charting K-pop solo act on US radio with its peak at No. 11 in 2012.
Rosé’s climb to the Top 10 with “APT.” solidifies her place in history, making her the first K-pop female artist to rank fifth on the esteemed chart.
Following this success, she released even more music, including her full-length album, “rosie,” with the music video for her song “Toxic Till the End” featuring Filipino American model and actor Evan Mock.
