Bruno Mars shatters Spotify records with 140 million monthly listeners
Bruno Mars has maintained a strong presence in the music scene with collaborations that have captured the world’s attention, leaving listeners everywhere smiling (not dying) and effortlessly singing along to “APT” on repeat.
Though the Filipino American artist hasn’t released any solo music this year, he still achieved an incredible milestone on Spotify as he broke records and cemented his place as one of the platform’s most streamed artists.
The “It Will Rain” hitmaker’s collaborations with Lady Gaga on “Die With A Smile” and Blackpink’s Rosé on “APT” have not only dominated the airwaves but also skyrocketed his streaming numbers to unprecedented heights.
These two tracks, which have surpassed a billion streams, played a pivotal role in propelling Mars to Spotify’s pinnacle. With 140,111,393 monthly listeners as of this month, the Grammy-award winning singer has become the first artist in the platform’s history to surpass 140 million monthly listeners.
This latest achievement follows his consistent dominance on the Spotify artist charts, where the songsmith has reigned for weeks. Beyond his streaming success, the “Just the Way You Are” performer has made waves in the live music scene as well, most recently making his debut at the 2024 MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards).
The global music sensation took to the stage with Rosé, performing their viral hit “APT,” and secured his first-ever MAMA award.
Additionally, he got his first Korean music show award for the same song with the K-pop idol on Mnet’s M Countdown.

In an Instagram post, the “Lazy Song” singer said “thank you” in Korean.
“[Rosé] F#cked around and turned me into a lil K-Pop Juggernaut! Thank you @mnet_mama for my first MAMA award and thank you Rosie for letting me be your plus one last night,” he wrote, adding a fun “Kissy face kissy face!”
